Whatever fans thought of the Wano Arc, Gear 5 was a massive moment that stepped beyond the debate. Getting dedicated merchandise to market first meant owning that, and the numbers made the case. The collection launched at New York Comic Con and crossed a quarter million dollars in direct sales within 72 hours, inventory being the only constraint. Khleo Thomas and Kiera Please, fronted the campaign photography, bringing an energy that resonated within the space. Influencer promotion and live event activations rounded out the launch, sustaining the kind of momentum that only comes around when working with a franchise like One Piece.
